Voting at the 2023 annual meeting

At the Annual Meeting, the Members will be asked to vote to Approve, Reject or Abstain from voting on the proposed slate of Directors up for election in 2023.

Consistent with prior communications describing the Association’s desire to project more influence in US-UK relations, strengthen the fundraising engine, and position the Marshall Scholarship itself for long-term sustainability, the Governance Committee recommends the following slate of candidates be put forward to the Membership for election to the Board of Directors of the organization at the next Annual Meeting on Sunday, September 17, 2023:

Mark Bell (’98) - First Term

Mark is a 1998 Marshall Scholar, who earned a Masters degree and Doctorate in Modern History at Balliol College, Oxford. He has served on a Mashall Scholar regional selection committee for 10 years. Mark is currently a Partner and head of the Private Capital and Family Office at Balentine. He resides in Atlanta, GA.

Martin Budd (1960) -Third Term

Marty, a class of 1960 Marshall Scholar, is a returning Director who has served as Chairman of the Development Committee of the AMS for many years.

Ron Chen (1996)- First Term

Ron is a class of 1996 Marshall Scholar who earned a M.Sc. in Economics and Social History

and a Master in Business Administration at Keble College, Oxford. He has worked with AMS

leadership on strategic initiatives. Ron is currently a Partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

He resides in Stanford, CA.

Keira Driansky (2003) - First Term

Keira is a 2003 Marshall Scholar who earned an M.Phil. in Bioscience Enterprise at Trinity Hall

College, Cambridge and was a Research Student at Magdalen College, Oxford. She is currently

Country President for Belgium and Luxembourg at AstraZeneca. She resides in Brussels,

Belgium.

If elected, they will all be subject to a 3-year term of service beginning in September.
