Voting at the 2024 annual meeting

At the Annual Meeting, the Members will be asked to vote to Approve, Reject or Abstain from voting on the proposed slate of Directors up for election in 2024.

Consistent with prior communications describing the Association’s desire to project more influence in US-UK relations, strengthen the fundraising engine, and position the Marshall Scholarship itself for long-term sustainability, the Governance Committee recommends the following slate of candidates be put forward to the Membership for election to the Board of Directors of the association at the next Annual Meeting on Sunday, December 8, 2024:

Katie Beirne Fallon (1998) - First Term

Katie is a 1998 Marshall Scholar, who earned an M.A. in Conflict Regulation at Queens University, Belfast and an M.Sc. in Comparative Politics at the London School of Economics.  She has served in a number of U.S. governmental roles, including as Director of Legislative Affairs and Senior Advisor under President Obama.  She is currently serving as an Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Affairs at Fidelity Investments. Katie resides in Arlington, VA.

Sridhar Iyengar (1995) -First Term

Sridhar is a 1995 Marshall Scholar, who earned an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Biotechnology at Cambridge.  He has been a serial entrepreneur, founder, and investor in engineering and life sciences companies. Sridhar is currently serving as Chairman and Chief Strategy & Technology Officer at Elemental Machines and as an advisor to numerous ventures in the life sciences space.  He resides in Salem, NH. 

Elizabeth Harmer Dionne (1992)- Second Term

Elizabeth was elected to the Board in 2021 and is eligible to serve a second term.  She is a 1992 Marshall Scholar, who earned an M.A. in Political Theory at Cambridge.  She is currently an attorney at Massachusetts Advocates for Children.  She resides in Cambridge, MA.

Dr. Julia Rafal-Baer (2006) – Second Term

Julia was elected to the Board in 2021 and is eligible to serve a second term. She is a 2006 Marshall Scholar, who earned a Ph.D. in Policy and Research at Cambridge.  She currently serving as the co-founder and CEO of ILO Group and as the founder and CEO of Women Leading Ed.  She resides in Providence, RI.

Jessica Sebeok (1997) – Second Term

Jessica was elected to the Board in 2021 and is eligible to serve a second term.   She is a 1997 Marshall Scholar, who earned an M.St. in Modern History at Oxford (Brasenose College).  She currently is Vice President for Global Government Partnerships and Public Policy at Wiley.  She resides in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore area.

If elected, they will all be subject to a 3-year term of service beginning in December.
