FCDP announces addtional funding for marshall scholarship

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office announced additional funding for the program over the next three financial years, beginning in 2026–2027. The funding will include:

  • Annual uplift bringing total Grant-in-Aid to £5m per year

  • Expansion to 50 Scholarships annually

  • A minimum of five additional STEM-focused Marshall Scholarships each year designated for study at universities in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with up to five further STEM awards allocated elsewhere

  • Continued flexibility across the remaining awards.
