Robin Twyman Bio:
Robin Twyman took up his assignment as Consul (Business & Government Affairs) at the UK Government Office in Seattle in January 2013. His job is to support trade, investment, science and innovation between the UK and Washington State. Robin has been in the United States since 2009, serving as First Secretary (Trade Policy, Business Affairs & Agriculture) at the British Embassy in Washington DC before coming to Seattle.
Robin was born in Canterbury, UK, and joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1987. His diplomatic career has seen him serve overseas tours in Africa, the Middle East and Europe. His assignments have covered a range of foreign policy, security policy, communications and commercial diplomacy duties.
Robin is accompanied in Seattle by his wife, Laura (from Cleveland, Ohio), and their two daughters. They enjoy travelling, music and outdoor pursuits.
