A. Benjamin Spencer is an expert in the field of civil procedure and federal jurisdiction. He became Dean of William & Mary Law School in July, 2020. He was previously a Bennett Boskey Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School and a Justice Thurgood Marshall Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Virginia. Spencer was appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts to the Advisory Committee on Civil Rights of the U.S. Judicial Conference. Spencer is the author of two books regarding civil procedure, Acing Civil Procedure and Civil Procedure: A Contemporary Approach.
