Dr. Meena Seshamani was appointed Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center of Medicare in July, 2021. In this role Dr. Seshamani will lead the Centers’ efforts to serve those over 65, people with disabilities, and people who rely on Medicare coverage. Dr. Seshamani previously served as the Vice President of Clinical Care Transformation at MedStar Health. She also cared for patients as an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Seshamani served the Obama administration as Director of the Office of Health Reform at the US Department of Health and Human Services, where she led efforts to implement the Affordable Care Act.
